Sixteenth Century Conservatories

Dating back to the sixteenth century conservatories where originally used to grow fruit. This fruit was brought in from other countries and royalty wanted to be able to grow this fruit. The first structures were not hardwood conservatories, they were usually more like a pergola and the plants were moved inside during cold weather.
